Despite allowing five goals in a 6-5 loss and getting the hook in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final, Michael Leighton will reportedly again be between the pipes for the Philadelphia Flyers in Monday night’s Game 2.
The Flyers are +170 underdogs, the Chicago Blackhawks are -200 faves and the Total is set at 6.
Philadelphia has been a solid bet against the ‘Hawks, going 7-2 straight up in their last nine overall against Chicago and are 14-5-1 SU in their last 20 against the 2010 Western Conference champs as well.
On top of that, the Flyers are 8-2 SU in their last 10 games overall.
Despite his poor outing in Game 1, Leighton has been hot these playoffs, going 7-2 SU since coming in for an injured Brian Boucher on May 10 — Boucher allowed one goal in 12 shots after relieving Leighton in Game 1.
However, Leighton has not been so good on the road, going 3-6 SU in his last nine games away from the Wachovia Center.
Earlier at a news conference on Sunday, Flyers coach Peter Laviolette remained coy about who his starting goalie would be but reportedly pulled a 180, according to ESPN.com, and told the team’s PR staff to let the starter be known.
The Flyers are currently listed at +325 to win the Stanley Cup in Series Price betting.
