2010 T20 World Cup Super 8: India vs Australia Odds and Preview

All the expected teams have taken their place in the Super Eights of the ICC World T20. India and Australia will clash in the 3rd Super 8 match of the T20 World Cup 2010 on Friday, 7th May at the Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barados. Match Start time 7 Pm India time.

As it has turned out, Pakistan and England had got close to the exit doors, but, in the end, managed to pull themselves out of trouble; thanks to Australia and rain respectively.

Team India kept their appointment with the semi-finals, with a facile win over South Africa. The one-sidedness of the game was almost as surprising as the previous result when the two sides had met in an ICC World T20 game; on a slow and low and turning track at Nottingham, India had failed to put it across the Proteas.

And this win also ensures that the Indians will go into their first game in the Super Eights against Australia, a team which is currently buzzing like the froth on a freshly opened can of beer. This makes for an interesting match-up between the two sides, which seem similar in terms of their batting strengths, but could not be more dissimilar when a comparison of their bowling departments is made.

The Australian team on a winning row they dominated the opponents quite brilliantly in the group stage. The Australian team now wanted to carry the momentum in the Super 8 Stage. The Australian peace attack will be plus point for today’s match. The Australian team key players like Mike Hussey and David Warner are in good touch. The Captain clarke has not perform well in the tournament that will be worry factor for the Australian team. This match will be going down to wire.

The only one factor that the Aussies could look at guarding against is the oneness that the attack may bring about; Shaun Tait, Dirk Nannes and if fit, Mitchell Johnson, all bowl at speeds of over 140-145 km/hr, and there is a definite chance that if the Indians can see the new ball off, the rest of the overs could become a tad easier for the batting hunks from India.

My take is that Australia go in as favourites. And even the bookies seem to agree, with the Aussies going in at 9/10 as compared to the evens that are being offered for an Indian win. Read More!
