MLB Betting June 14 picks

The only good thing about Mondays in life is that new MLB betting series begin and there are plenty of games to bet on. Sports Betting features the latest MLB player props and money line baseball odds on the MLB matchups getting under way on Monday. Let’s take a look at some MLB picks.

Cardinals -320 over the Mariners.
At first glance, you might think -320 seems like a lot of money to lay for a single MLB betting matchup. But come on, we’re talking about the Seattle Mariners on the road, people. The Mariners are coming off a win, but they still have one of the worst road records in all of baseball (nine wins). Meanwhile, St. Louis is actually coming off two losses in a row, so you can bet they’ll be wide-eyed and salivating with Seattle coming to town. The Cards are 17-11 coming off a loss and are 2-1 as a home favorite of -250 to -330 this season.
You have Adam Wainwright who’s off to a strong start this season, versus newcomer Luke French. This was all the makings of a lopsided game and an easy baseball moneyline bet. Bet the Cards.
Angels -160 over Brewers

Another mismatch on paper. The Angels haven’t been their usual dominant self this season, but appear to be turning it around with a 10-3 June thus far. They’ll have Joe Saunders on the mound, trying to stretch the team’s win streak to four games. Los Angeles is 15-7 against teams with losing records this season, so you can be sure they’ll be primed for this game.

As for the Brewers, it’s been a disapppointing season so far for Milwaukee. Randy Wolf goes to the hill for the Brew Crew. Milwaukee is losers of three in a row and are 2-6 this season when listed as a road underdog. They’re also 14-22 when playing after a loss. All signs point to taking the Angels at home.
Another baseball betting angle to look at in this game is the over/under. The current toal is 10 runs for this game. With both pitchers having inflated earned run averages, we also like the over as a secondary bet as well.

MLB Betting: Civil War Weekend

MLB will see Interleague play this weekend and amongst the games, a number of cross-town battles.

One of the most notable series is the Red Line Rivalry between the Chicago White Sox vs Chicago Cubs, with the Cubbies playing hosts at Wrigley — the Cubs are favored at -125 and the White Sox are +105 underdogs.

Jake Peavy goes for the South Siders and Randy Wells for the North Siders and both are right-handed.

The Cubs have struggled in their last nine vs. righties, going 2-7 straight up in such situations and in their nine games prior to Thursday, there were 3 Overs and 6 Unders.

In the ChiSox’s last 15 games (prior to Thursday) against RHPs, there have been 11 Overs, 3 Unders and a Push.

Chicago isn’t the only city seeing its two teams go at it, Los Angeles is seeing a similar series this weekend with the Dodgers hosting the Angels — the Dodgers are -160 home faves and the Angels are +140 and the Total is set at 8.5.

Joel Pineiro goes for the Angels and eight of his last 12 road starts have resulted in Overs.

Chad Billingsley takes the mound for the Dodgers and in his last eight overall starts, the Dodgers have gone 6-2 SU.

There is also the Battle of the Bay Area as the San Francisco Giants host the Oakland Athletics in a three-game weekend set.

Game 1 on Friday will see Tim Lincecum starting for the Giants and Gio Gonzalez for the A’s and the home team is listed at -190 while the road team is a +160 underdog and the Total is set at 6.5.

Lincecum has a relatively low ERA of 3.20 but in his last 11 starts, there have been 8 Overs and 3 Unders and Gonzalez’s last 10 games overall have seen 7 Overs and 3 Unders.

MLB Betting: Stephen Strasburg Debuting In Early-June?

MLB Betting: Stephen Strasburg Debuting In Early-June?: According to reports, rookie pitcher Stephen Strasburg could make his much-anticipated first start for the Washington Nationals in a home series against the Pittsburgh Piratessometime between the 8th and 10th of June.
Strasburg has been very impressive both in Double and Triple-A ball combining for a record of 6-1 with an ERA of 0.99 and 54 strikeouts in 45 and one-third innings.

Hopefully Strasburg fares better against the Pirates than other Washington pitchers have — the Nationals are 3-7 straight up in their last 10 overall against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Management is remaining mum on the topic but players in the Nats’ clubhouse are eagerly anticipating Strasburg’s debut.

“We had a little taste of Strasburg during Spring Training, but now the whole baseball world gets to see it on the stage,” said pitcher Matt Capps to MLB.com

“It would be exciting to be a part of it.”

“This kid is a monster. He is a special breed,” outfielder Nyjer Morgan told ESPN.com.

“I’m fired up that he will face my former team. I just want to see him pitch really good against them. He is going to bring an energy that we haven’t had before here. It’s something I’m looking forward to.”

The ball club is expected to make an official announcement within a week of Strasburg’s actual start date.
It remains to be seen how Strasburg will affect futures betting.

As it stands, the Washington Nationals are listed at +1,750 to take the National League (NL) East division, +5,500 to take the NL Pennant and +12,500 to win the World Series. Read More!
