Week 1 NFL Opening Lines Preview: Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Redskins

The NFL released the 2010 NFL schedule not too long ago and below you will find the Redskins schedule. Week 1 opening match for the Washington Redskins takes against Dallas on Sep 12, 2010. This game is the first matchup on Sunday Night Football betting for the 2010 season.

Washington’s passing struggled last season finishing 16th overall with only 218 yards per game. It’s not like they don’t have talented receivers either, with Santana Moss, Chris Cooley, and the additions of Bobby Wade and Joey Galloway this offseason as well, the Redskins will have an air attack like their fans haven’t seen since the Theismann days.

Washington also made some significant pickups in the running game too, signing two-time Super Bowl champion Willie Parker who brings speed to the edge and can bust a long run at any moment. Former Kansas City Chief, Larry Johnson was also signed, who proved last season he can still be very productive as he was for the Bengals at times. You can’t forget about Clinton Portis either back there.

Yet, the most important offseason acquisition Washington made was at the coaching spot, hiring Mike Shanahan to lead the Redskins this season. Chris Cooley said in a recent interview that he was very impressed with how Shanahan carries himself and how he runs a team. Cooley goes on to say that Shanahan is a very easy guy to respect, something the Redskin players seemed to have very little of for Jim Zorn last year.

I predict this line will be bet down to the key number of 3 over the summer, so if you like Washington to come out strong and make a solid opening statement this year, it is worth investing him them now at +3.5 while that nasty hook is working in your favour.

Washington at +3.5 is a live home dog and the play here.
